Barack Obama is a combination of the Myers-Briggs INTP and the Enneagram Type 3 with a secondary 2 wing. The INTP 3wing2 is both a deep thinker and very superficial.

You know, the stereotypical scientific nerd from the Big Bang Theory? That’s an INTP. The 3wing2, on the other hand, is superficial, image-conscious, and result-driven.

It is the opposite of sentimental, while the INTP is both sentimental and artistic. INTPs are the best writers, and very good speakers.

If I had to name the INTP 3wing2, I would call it the “Scientific Businessman”, for INTPs are best at science, while the 3wing2 is the best type for business.

The 3wing2 is known to have a “smooth” quality. It also desires success and external validation above all other things. Integrity is the “vice” of the 3wing2.

I’m including this quote because it doesn’t describe Obama at all. The reason for this, is that Obamas Enneagram type, the 3wing2, makes him hyper focused and result-driven. It “pulls him” in another direction.

This describes Obama pretty well, who was known for his speaking ability and word efficiency. The NT temperament (ENTP, ENTJ, INTJ, INTP), are almost religiously turned on by efficiency.

The 3wing2 is known to be level headed, smooth and very driven. Their akhilles heel is that they can be superficial, too image conscious, lack integrity, and also empathy.

They see the goal and they want to get to it — no matter what. Obama has shown a very strong drive his whole life, but I don’t think he has a problem with empathy.

Low functioning 3wing2s often become “effective assholes” or “ruthless businessmen”.

He did, however, exist in a very tight bubble, according to himself. Where he wasn’t even allowed to have a smartphone. Instead, he had to have a Blackberry with only 10 contacts.

Despite being the most powerful man in the world, President Barack Obama is not allowed to use an iPhone because his security advisers have claimed it is not secure enough.
“I am not allowed, for security reasons, to have an iPhone,” Obama quipped during a pitch for his healthcare law at the White House, intimating that he was forced to be behind the curve in technology adoption.

Alternative media has complained that they didn’t get to ask Obama a single question that wasn’t pre-approved. That means no questions about not closing down Gitmo, for example, a campaign promise.

Furthermore, it is fitting that his Ennegram type is called “The Enchanter”, when he echanted the entire world to root for him. His support in Sweden (where I live) during the campaign was close to a 100%. It is still very high to this day.
